Spencer Dock Bridge
Right in the middle of the new centre "Docklands" in Dublin, Nedcam accomplished the "Spencer Dock Bridge" to the spectacular draft of Future Systems (London).
Nedcam designed and delivered for this project the double curved mould, which is build up on-site on a scaffolding with very narrow toleranced levelled floors. Half November 2008 the bridge deck was demoulded after 5 weeks and showed a beautiful result.
The EPS-polyurea system (EPS blocks machined in shape and spayed in polyurea), especially developed by Nedcam, showed to be very suitable as a mould for the pouring of free-formed concrete constructions. Technically the engineering company Solico and the Catholic University of Leuven, section Materials Science and engineering, tested the pressure forces within the concrete mould and the separators.
