The starting point for a well machined product is the CAD drawing. Therefore Nedcam offers support in CAD-engineering:
Conversion of 2D drawings in 3D
Elaboration of design drawings in production drawings of the single parts
Engineering of mounting and production flanges
Convert scanned files in faired machinable files
Engineering of building systems with support frame and control points.
Machining needs a file containing a surface description as the tool needs to follow these surfaces. As soon as the file is a solid or contains not fitting/bad trimmed surfaces, the tool will have troubles creating the correct final shape.
Drawings can best be supplied in the extensions IGS and/or STP. After consultation other file-extensions might be possible depending on the software used.
