Nedcam produces seamless models by using a paste system. The most applied types of paste in the market are Polyurethane and Epoxy paste.
Most materials for model/plug production have limitations in the raw block dimensions. Therefore basic units need to be assembled which creates one or more seams in the final model. Paste on the contrary is applied on the raw model avoiding seams in advance.

Nedcam uses Polyurethane paste in conjunction with a EPS base model. The EPS is only the bearer of the paste and is the ideal subsurface because of the low weight and the high resistance against surface pressure. For the overall stiffness the model is mounted on a rigid wooden frame and where necessary a layer of glass-epoxy is applied under the paste.

The models are produced in several steps:

   Sika & Nedcam (documentary)

1. CAD model with flanges, scratch lines, etc. is converted in work orders for the basic materials and in machining programs.

2. Assembly raw model

3. Pre-milling of the EPS

4. Paste application (after glass-epoxy if necessary)

5. Machining of the paste

Endresult is a model/plug (positive image of the product) or a direct mould (negative image of the product) finished as grinded to grain P150.

The model will be finished in a spray company or at the mould making company; grinding, spray primer and coating. Thereafter the model is ready for usage.

Nedcam produces models up to 25 metres. However, big models are often divided in transportable parts and to cut costs. Please ask Neddcam for advice.
