Digitalising can be performed in many ways to get a proper result. This is depending on the starting object and the required processing hereafter. Therefore measuring of a distance with a ruler and an angle with a set square could be sufficient, although it could also be essential to measure an object with a laser scanner in 16 positions to gather several millions of data points. All techniques and combinations of techniques in between are taken into consideration if Nedcam needs to digitalise an object.
In cooperation with a specialized measuring company Nedcam takes care of 3D measurements in order to perform reverse engineering or design evaluation of your product. Several different measuring devices can be chosen based on your specified result and if necessary the measurement can be performed at your facilities.
3D measuring has 2 main directions:
- Point measurement This type is used on less complex products in close range as well as in long range scope. Characteristics are high accuracy and reduced unnecessary information.
- Laser scanning
Specifically used from small to large objects with many details. By use of software the scatter plot of the scanned model can be converted in a surface or solid model.
Nedcam takes care of the measurement, the usage of applicable specialists and the conversion of the measurements in the required output. Thereafter modifications can always be done digitally on the model.
